    DEVELOPING SPEAKING SKILL OF THE TENTH GRADE STUDENTS THROUGH ACOUSTIC SONG

    This research was aimed at finding out whether or not the use of acoustic song can develop the speaking skill of the tenth grade students at PPM Al-Istiqamah Palu. This research applied a pre experimental research design involving only one sample group. The sample of this research was selected by a cluster sampling technique. The instrument of data collection was a test which was given to the research sample as pre-test and post-test. The data gathered were analyzed statistically. The result of the data shows that the t- counted value (15.35) was greater than the t- table value (1.721) by applying 0.05 level of significance and 21 (22 – 1) degree of freedom (df). It means that the use of acoustic can significantly develop the students’ speaking skill.Keywords: Developing; Speaking Skill; Acoustic Song

    Nowadays, the competition on notebook industry is getting more strict. Each of these notebook manufacturers create a product that has good quality, to be able to have competitive advantages in the notebook industry. The purpose of this research is to explain the effect of brand image, price, and product quality influencing on purchasing decision of Toshiba’s notebook and also explain which variable has the biggest influence on the purchasing decision of Toshiba’s consumer. The sample in this study was 100 people who buy and use the products of Toshiba’s notebook in Semarang, taken by accidental sampling. There are three stages before conducting multiple linear regression analysis, validity and reliability testing and classical assumption testing. After all stages of multiple linear regression is done, the writer conducted goodness of fit test: individual parameter significance test (t test), fit model test (f test), and determination coefficient test (R2 test). The result of Regression analysis showed that the variable of brand image, price, and product quality had positive influences to the purchasing decision with an equation Y = 0,438 X1 + 0,252 X2 + 0,283 X3. The most influential variable was brand image in the amount of 0,438, followed by product quality in the amount of 0,283, and the least influential variable was price in the amount of 0,252. T test result showed that brand image, price, and product quality individually had a significant influence on purchase decision. This equation model had F value of 66,690 with a significant level of 0.0000. The analysis used determination coefficient or R2 test showed that 66.6% purchasing decision could be summarized by brand image, price, and product quality and 33.4% purchasing decision could be summarized by other variables which had been explained by another factor

    COMPARISON OF MODEL ACCURACY IN TREE CANOPY DENSITY ESTIMATION USING SINGLE BAND, VEGETATION INDICES AND FOREST CANOPY DENSITY (FCD) BASED ON LANDSAT-8 IMAGERY (CASE STUDY: PEAT SWAMP FOREST IN RIAU PROVINCE)

    Identification of a tree canopy density information may use remote sensing data such as Landsat-8 imagery. Remote sensing technology such as digital image processing methods could be used to estimate the tree canopy density. The purpose of this research was to compare the results of accuracy of each method for estimating the tree canopy density and determine the best method for mapping the tree canopy density at the site of research. The methods used in the estimation of the tree canopy density are Single band (green, red, and near-infrared band), vegetation indices (NDVI, SAVI, and MSARVI), and Forest Canopy Density (FCD) model. The test results showed that the accuracy of each method: green 73.66%, red 75.63%, near-infrared 75.26%, NDVI 79.42%, SAVI 82.01%, MSARVI 82.65%, and FCD model 81.27%. Comparison of the accuracy results from the seventh methods indicated that MSARVI is the best method to estimate tree canopy density based on Landsat-8 at the site of research.
